Shooting wraps up with a transition
PLOTCEBO HQ, Mo. (Jan. 19, 2003)--Oh, yeah. We finished up shooting "Chairs". The announcement should have been made over a month ago, but Thaddeus' computer was in cold storage at the time. Additionally, all media equipment has been returned to their rightful owners, so no screenshots for this update.
Which is a shame, since the crew ended production with seven hours of wonderful (and occasionally shameful) footage. In the past, Plotcebo's experience has been that an hour of footage shot equated to about ten minutes of final product. "Chairs" is slightly different than past projects, however. Many of the shots are fast-paced race scenes which, with careful editing, should compress down to a good ratio.
Editing is a subject all in itself. Since production has wrapped up, it would be only natural to move into post-production. The drive is strong enough to push us right into slaving away at the edit machine, but there have been a few developements in the last month. Namely, Scott and Thaddeus moved to Vancouver while the rest of the team remain in Missouri.
This is one of those bittersweet moments that everyone must endure in their lives. The upside is that, well, Scott and Thaddeus are in Vancouver. Both attend Vancouver Film School where Scott studies Classical Animation and Thaddeus has entered into the Visual Effects program. This does hamper the amount of time both have to dedicate to Plotcebo related projects, though. The reality is that it may be quite awhile before editing begins, let alone its public release.
So, time may be limitted, and progress may be slow. Yet, Plotcebo would still like to extend its gratitude to its fan everywhere and encourage them to be loyal. There are seven tapes burning a hole in a box somewhere, itching to be produced, and I'll be damned if I don't give them what they want. Viva la Plotcebo!
